About Kid Cope Specialists

Our Story

A resource for parents, caregivers, educators and medical professionals, Kid Cope Specialists provides developmentally-appropriate preparation and education, as well as advocacy and other supportive services to help guide children and families through life’s unexpected and challenging moments.

 

Kid Cope Specialists was developed in 2017 when a gap in service was recognized in the  community of Hoboken, NJ. There was an opportunity to support kids and families dealing with a variety of challenges – medical and dental fears, separation anxiety, sickness or death of a family member. Kid Cope was established with the goal of providing coping skills to kids and families to better prepare them for life’s difficult moments. Over the last seven years, Kid Cope has developed into a team of highly skilled and experienced child life specialists supporting families in NJ, NY, and CT.

How Does it Work?

After reaching out to a member of our team, we’ll ask you to complete an intake form to help us determine if Kid Cope is the right fit for your family. We will schedule a virtual 60-minute Parent Session where a specialist will provide a full assessment, discuss the needs of your child and what you hope to accomplish through our work together. 

 

After the initial parent session, an in-person session will be scheduled for your child. Our specialists will work to create a customized care plan and implement it through in-home sessions with your child. Our goal is to provide your child and family with skills that empower you and tools to take on life’s challenges.
